The Rise of Male Cosmetic Procedures: What Men Chose in 2025

It’s 2025, a year for breaking down barriers, challenging expectations, and setting new norms. In the world of cosmetic procedures, one of the biggest changes has been the rising number of men seeking natural and subtle enhancements. The world is beginning to realize that cosmetic procedures are not just for certain genders or professions; they’re for anyone who wants to improve their natural appearance and boost their confidence.

Dr. DeMercurio’s approach has always emphasized subtlety. We aim to improve our patients’ features without making them look unnatural, pumped-up, or plastic. This approach is lockstep with the male cosmetic procedures Ormond Beach residents have been seeking: treatments that enhance and restore youthfulness without making you look like someone else.

So, what procedures have men been most interested in this year? Take a look:

Liposuction

No matter how much time you spend in the gym, there are certain pockets of fat that don’t want to budge. You’ve tried strength training, aerobic exercise, and maybe even weight loss pills (not a choice we’d really recommend), but you’re still unhappy when you look in the mirror. Does this situation sound familiar? It’s an incredibly common experience, especially for men in their late 30s and beyond.

Instead of throwing in the towel and sizing up their pants, more men are now seeking liposuction for those stubborn fat pockets. It’s extremely effective for patients with unwanted fat around their abdomen and hips. We’ve also performed liposuction around men’s necks, chins, backs, and thighs. The results are far more reliable than those of any supplement or workout routine.

Our male liposuction patients are thrilled when, after years of struggle, they can look in the mirror and see the trimmer figure they’ve been chasing for so long. In many cases, a little liposuction reveals the muscles that have been hiding under thicker layers of subcutaneous fat. Suddenly, you can see what all your hard work in the gym has been building!

Liposuction is a surgical procedure, but it’s far less invasive than patients often imagine. We only have to make a few small incisions in your skin. We insert a special vacuum tool into those incisions, suctioning out the excess fatty tissue.

Here’s what you can expect during the recovery process:

  • You’ll need to spend the first few days post-treatment in bed.
  • Wearing compression garments for a few weeks will help minimize pain and ensure speedy healing.
  • Most men can return to work within 10-14 days.
  • Post-surgical bruising clears up about two weeks post-procedure.
  • Full recovery takes 6-8 weeks.

And here’s the best thing about liposuction: once those fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good. Your remaining fat cells can still take on more fat, so it is technically possible to gain weight back. But the vast majority of men find it much easier to maintain their desired figure afterwards. When it comes to male liposuction, Ormond Beach residents are saying, Yes!”

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery for men is one of the top men’s plastic surgery trends 2025 has seen, and it’s no wonder why. As we age, our eyelids are among the first places where we experience a loss of skin thickness and tone. This causes our eyelids to start drooping and creasing. Drooping eyelids are as common in men as they are in women. And they may be even more bothersome in men, who are less likely to use eyelid creams and other cosmetics to enhance tone for the eyelids in the early stages.

Here’s the strange thing about drooping eyelids: you don’t always realize they’re the problem. Some of our patients have been looking in the mirror and observing that something has changed, but they can’t put their finger on it. Usually, it’s their eyelids. Drooping eyelids have a sneaky way of making your whole face look older. Once we “fix” them with a quick procedure, it can feel like we’ve turned back the clock a whole decade, if not more.

Eyelid surgery is called blepharoplasty, and there are three different types we can perform:

Upper Blepharoplasty

In this procedure, we make a tiny incision in the crease of your upper eyelid. Through this incision, we can remove any excess fat in the area, tighten small muscles, and even remove a small amount of skin. We use surgical glue or careful sutures to close the incision. The scar will be hidden in the crease of your eyelid, so it won’t be obvious you’ve had surgery. This is one of the things men like most about eyelid surgery: its subtlety.

Lower Blepharoplasty

If your lower eyelids are drooping, we can perform lower eyelid surgery through a tiny incision made along your lash line. Once healed, these incisions are nearly impossible to see. Men with bags under their eyes or dark under-eye circles often benefit from lower blepharoplasty. After surgery, they not only look younger, but also better-rested.

Double Eyelid Surgery

This procedure is a little different from the other two, but it’s also becoming more popular among men. If you’re of Asian descent and have monolid eyes, a double eyelid surgery can add a crease to your upper eyelids. Of course, this is purely a matter of preference. Many men are happy with their monolid eyes, but if you’re not, it is absolutely something we can address with a quick procedure.

Regardless of which eyelid surgery you have, there are some steps to follow during recovery. You’ll need to avoid prolonged sun exposure, wear sunglasses when you go outdoors, and follow all post-surgical instructions for bandage changes. But when you look in the mirror and see younger eyes looking back, it will most definitely be worth the effort.

Injectables

While surgery can be helpful for many men, cosmetic enhancement does not have to mean surgery. Non-surgical treatments for men are also on the rise, with an increasing number of men opting to use injectables to ease wrinkles and fine lines.

Over the past decade, injectables have become far more specialized. We now have specific formulas that are customized for certain concerns and different areas, allowing us to create results that are far more natural, subtle, and long-lasting.

The following are some of the most popular injectables for men in 2025:

Sculptra®

As you age, you lose collagen, especially around your nose, mouth, cheeks, and temples. This can cause your facial skin to look thin and saggy instead of tight and toned. Sculptra® is an injectable that stimulates your skin’s own collagen production, restoring an all-around more youthful look. The results are not instant; they develop in the weeks after treatment, but they can be quite dramatic. Plus, the results can last up to two years, making this a great option for busy men who don’t want to schedule appointment after appointment.

JUVÉDERM®

JUVÉDERM® fillers are hyaluronic acid-based. Hyaluronic acid is a compound that your skin produces naturally. It helps give your skin tone and elasticity, but it becomes depleted with age. Since hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance, skin reacts very well to it, and the risk of post-injection side effects is very low.

JUVÉDERM® has a whole family of products that are specialized for different skin concerns. For example, JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE® XC is great for smile lines, and JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® XC is specialized for the cheeks and chin.

The results of JUVÉDERM® are instant, making these injections a great choice for men who are always on the go. There’s some minor post-injection swelling and redness, but it clears up within a day or two.

BOTOX®

Ah, BOTOX®. It’s a tried-and-true staple of the cosmetic enhancement world. There’s a reason it’s still around after all these years: it works! If you have dynamic wrinkles – the kind that really only show up when you’re laughing, smiling, or frowning – then BOTOX® is the way to go. It works by relaxing the muscles underneath your skin, which smooths out those wrinkles and also helps keep them from deepening over time.
